Matt McGloin Wants To Be a Starting Quarterback

Oakland Raiders backup quarterback Matt McGloin wants a new title — starting quarterback Matt McGloin. Speaking to reporters following the Wild Card loss to the Houston Texans, McGloin was asked about where he wants to play in 2017.

“Somewhere where they will give me a chance to compete for a starting role,” McGloin said recently, per Josh Dubow of the Associated Press, when asked what he’s looking for as a free agent.

Translation: Not for the Raiders.

McGloin will be an unrestricted free agent in the offseason, and he’ll be looking for an opportunity to start.
