ALAMEDA, Calif. – Mario Edwards, Jr. just started practicing with the Oakland Raiders last week and Wednesday was his first in pads.
So is there any shot at the second-year defensive end, who has been on Injured Reserve since the start of the season with a hip injury, being activated to the 53-man roster and playing this weekend at the San Diego Chargers?
“I don’t really know yet,” Edwards said Wednesday in the Raiders locker room, before practice. “Just kind of see how the rest of the week goes. And hopefully, if I can (play), then I will.
