The Raiders won the opening coin toss and elected to defer their choice to the second half. RB Ameer Abdullah returned K Sebastian Janikowski’s opening kickoff 29 yards to the 22. The Lions drove deep into Raiders territory before the Silver and Black forced a field goal attempt. K Matt Prater’s 29-yard kick was good and the Lions took a 3-0 lead with 7:54 left in the 1st quarter.
RB Taiwan Jones fielded Prater’s ensuing kickoff on the end line for a touchback and the Raiders started at the 20 with Derek Carr at quarterback.
