ALAMEDA — The Raiders will continue the search for a few good linebackers following a cut-down day Saturday in which they parted with a potential starter, a former third-round draft pick and their biggest surprise of the exhibition season.
Jelani Jenkins, the lone defensive free agent signed by general manager Reggie McKenzie in the offseason, was placed on season-ending injured reserve while Shilique Calhoun and LaTroy Lewis were waived.
The Raiders’ initial 53-man roster has five linebackers — Bruce Irvin, rookie Marquel Lee, Cory James, Tyrell Adams and Nicholas Morrow, an undrafted rookie out of Division III.
