Leon Orr promoted to Raiders active roster

The Raiders officially promoted defensive tackle Leon Orr from the practice squad Sunday, placing linebacker Neiron Ball on injured reserve to create space on the 53-man roster.

Orr was informed Friday and broke the news on Twitter. The undrafted free agent from Florida was signed to the practice squad after being cut at the end of training camp.

The 6-foot-5, 320-pound Orr, a boisterous locker room personality, was never a regular starter in college. He came into the league with some baggage after, being upset that he wasn’t starting, he took a bus home from his team’s game at Vanderbilt in Nashville back to Gainesville, Fla.
