Heading into the 2020 NFL Draft, it was clear that the Las Vegas Raiders needed help at the wide receiver position. Sitting at pick No. 12, they had their choice of wideouts, as not one was off the board, which was surprising considering how good this draft class is at the position.
With Oklahoma's CeeDee Lamb, as well as Alabama's Henry Ruggs III and Jerry Jeudy still available, the Raiders went with Ruggs, which was a bit shocking. The talk around the team all week was how much Mike Mayock loved Lamb, but seeing Jon Gruden so excited prior to the pick, it became clear the choice was Ruggs.
