ALAMEDA – The NFL cuts its workforce by nearly half this week, with the first axe coming Tuesday afternoon. The Raiders officially brought their roster to the 75-player limit, without major surprises that weren’t already revealed a day before.
It became clear during Sunday’s exhibition against Arizona that Trindon Holliday wouldn’t be the team’s return specialist, and the Raiders formally shut that idea down by releasing him in the first wave of cuts.
As previously reported, running back Trent Richardson and receiver Kenbrell Thompkins have been waived.
Punter Steven Clark, cornerback Robertson Daniel, quarterback Cody Fajardo, receiver Josh Harper, guard Lamar Mady and receiver Milton Williams III were also waived.
