With the Oakland Raiders creating headlines for giving extensions to key players on expiring deals, two key absences on defense slipped under the radar on Wednesday as the team was without two of their main starters when they practiced at their Alameda headquarters. Absences that included their sack leader and one of their starting defensive backs.
According to the team injury report, pass rusher Khalil Mack and starting safety Nate Allen were both absentees at practice as they sat out as the team prepares for a rivalry game against the Denver Broncos at Mile High Stadium. A game that begins a stretch in which the Raiders need to win out their remaining four games to have any hopes of taking a playoff spot and are playing three winning teams in those remaining four games.
