Raiders legendary quarterback Ken Stabler was named one of two senior finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s 2016 class on Wednesday.
Stabler, who died June 22, and former University of San Francisco offensive lineman Dick Stanfel, were named finalists by the Hall of Fame’s seniors committee. The Hall of Fame’s selection committee will meet Feb. 6 to vote on the 2016 class.
Stabler led the Raiders to their first Super Bowl title after the 1976 season. He threw for 27,938 yards and 194 touchdowns and was the NFL MVP in 1974 and was voted to the NFL’s All-Decade Team of the 1970s.
