Twitter and the football world reacted to what was sad news in that Oakland Raiders legend Kenny Stabler had reportedly passed away at 69 years old. A report from Tuscaloosa News going around the media that the former Crimson Tide and Raiders quarterback had died, leading to many shocked reactions as well as reactions celebrating the life/playing career of ‘The Snake.’
However those eulogies were apparently premature, because Tuscaloosa News committed a cardinal sin in journalism by publishing an unconfirmed report when it came to Stabler’s death. Retracting their report within the hour of breaking the news that they had learned that Stabler had died.
