Ken Norton, Jr.: 'I'm accountable' for poor play of Raiders defense

ALAMEDA, Calif. -- The Oakland Raiders defense is off to a historically bad start as the first team since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger to allow 500-plus yards to each of its first two opponents in a season.

The criticism, then, has been heaped on defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr., who had some play-calling duties taken from him by coach Jack Del Rio in Sunday’s 35-28 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. And Norton, who said he anticipated resuming calling plays Sunday at the Tennessee Titans, is not ducking any blame.

"I’m accountable for all of that, and you really have to be detailed," Norton said Thursday.
