The late Ken Stabler’s wait to enter the Pro Football Hall of Fame is nearly over, and Thursday morning it was announced his former coach – and fellow member of the most elite club in professional football – John Madden would be presenting him.
Stabler and Madden spent nine years together in Silver and Black, earning six playoff appearances, and eventually capturing the Super Bowl XI title with a 32-14 win over the Minnesota Vikings where “The Snake” threw for 180 yards and one touchdown.
“In the big games he was big; in the tough games he was tough,” said Madden about Stabler last year.
