OAKLAND — Sebastian Janikowski’s record-setting day produced gloomy results.
Janikowski, the 37-year-old in his 16th NFL season, missed two field goals in the Raiders’ 16-10 loss to the Denver Broncos on an afternoon that he set the franchise record with 241 games played.
Janikowski passed Hall of Fame receiver Tim Brown to set the games played record, but his day will be remembered for his blocked 38-yard field goal and a 40-yard kick that missed wide left on the first play of the fourth quarter.
Those lost points changed the trajectory of the game and also served as the margin of defeat.
