When the Oakland Raiders let James Jones walk at the end of his one-year deal with the team, many had conflicted feelings about the departure of a veteran player who was productive in 2014 for the team. Especially considering Jones’ roots in the Bay Area and his red zone abilities with Derek Carr that led to six touchdown catches, the third-most in Jones’ career at the time.
Jones found himself going into training camp with the New York Giants after the Raiders let him go, but quickly was back with the only team he had called home before coming to Oakland as the Green Bay Packers took him back after Jordy Nelson was ruled out for the season.
