MEXICO -- On October 2, 2005, Mexico made NFL history by hosting the first regular season game outside the United States. On November 21, 11 years after that memorable night, Mexico will once again make history by hosting the first Monday Night Football game outside the US.
However, during its visit for the game between the Houston Texans and Oakland Raiders, the NFL will find that Mexico, particularly in hosting major sporting events, has changed a great deal in the past 11 years.
First, Azteca Stadium, which will host the game, has undergone several renovations that will significantly reduce the attendance from the 103,467 who saw the 2005 game between the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers.
