NAPA, Calif. – Ken Norton Jr. had his defensive coordinator play-calling duties stripped mid-game at time by coach Jack Del Rio last season. So when the Oakland Raiders hired John Pagano, who had spent the previous five seasons as the Chargers' defensive coordinator, as Del Rio's assistant head coach/defense in January, surely something was afoot, no?

"Nothing changes for me," Norton insisted during the Raiders' offseason program. "Obviously, Pagano is a guy that has a lot of experience. We all have a lot of experience. Certainly you have to use the people around you and it's important that we all fall into and understand what he's been able to accomplish.
