SAN DIEGO — Bruce Irvin likes to say that he’s Robin to Khalil Mack’s Batman.
“Robin showed up today,” Irvin said Sunday. “Robin woke up with a pep in his step.”
The linebacker was a difference maker Sunday, with two sacks, six tackles, a forced fumble and the play on San Diego quarterback Philip Rivers that helped clinch the game for the Raiders.
“In key situations, it seems like our defense always shows up,” Irvin said. “We knew it would be on us at the end of the game.”
With the Raiders clinging to a three-point lead, the Chargers took possession at their 14 with 2:35 to play.
