PITTSBURGH -- Raiders defensive back TJ Carrie has played through pain most of the year. He took a shot to the shoulder returning a punt in a Week 4 loss to Chicago, but never missed a game.
He added hip issues to his ailments this week, when he was limited in practice and considered questionable on the official injury report. On Sunday, the team announced Carrie wasn’t able to go.
They foreshadowed this possibility on Saturday, when they promoted Tevin McDonald from the practice squad to provide depth at safety.

Larry Asante will start for Carrie at one safety spot, with Charles Woodson manning the other spot.
