‘I feel terrible’: Longtime Oakland Raiders fans to gather for perhaps the final Coliseum game

OAKLAND — Growing up in East Oakland, Abner Morgan had a front row seat to Raiders history. Around the corner from his house on 76th Avenue was a pile of dirt known today as the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum.

He’ll be there Monday night as barbecue smoke fills the A Lot, as “The Autumn Wind” anthem sweeps through, as the Silver & Black take the field — perhaps for the final time in Oakland. It is a bookend he never wanted. And about the worst Christmas gift an East Bay Raider fan could receive.

“That was our play yard, the big mound of dirt,” Morgan, 65, said Friday.
