Like all fans of the Oakland Raiders, Howie Long was severely disappointed when the team’s storybook season took a turn for the worse after quarterback Derek Carr broke his leg. But the Fox NFL analyst believes great things are still ahead.
Long appeared with fellow analyst Terry Bradshaw at the Television Critics Association Press Tour to promote Fox’s coverage plans for next month’s Super Bowl. He revealed that he sent a message of encouragement to Carr after he went down in the next-to-last game of the regular season.
“I told him I think the foundation for a long, successful future has been built there,” Long said.
