There’s no question that the Las Vegas Raiders 2023 first-round pick Tyree Wilson had a disappointing rookie season.
Wilson’s career got off on the wrong foot — literally and figuratively — with an injury that kept him sidelined during the Raiders’ offseason program and the majority of training camp, causing the Texas Tech product’s slow start. However, even when healthy, the defensive end wasn’t the impact player the team was hoping for.
That being said, a clean bill of health heading into year two provides more optimism for the Texas Tech product, and defensive line coach Rob Leonard compared Wilson’s rookie campaign to his teammates’, Christian Wilkins and Maxx Crosby.
