The Raiders’ game Monday night is officially a home game. But the players are taking some unusual steps in preparing for it, like wearing elevation masks while working out to simulate low oxygen levels and improve cardiorespiratory fitness.
And the team is also bringing its meals and water.
Yes, Oakland is hosting the game in Mexico City, the first time in NFL history that a Monday night game has been played outside the country.
Because the team can’t spend more than two weeks to get used to the elevation — at 7,400 feet, Mexico City is 2,000 feet above Denver — it will arrive Sunday.
