Goodell: Vegas’ gambling ties remain a tricky issue for NFL

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell spent part of his annual “State of the League” address in Houston on Wednesday addressing the Raiders-to-Las Vegas proposal that may now be as good as dead.

Goodell was pointed in saying that the involvement of casino mogul Sheldon Adelson, who removed himself from a potential deal this week, would’ve been a point of contention when the owners meet in March anyway.

Adelson is believed to have wanted an ownership stake in the Raiders.

“That is not something that’s consistent with our policies. Not likely a stadium (ownership role), either,” he said.
