The lawyer of Oakland Raiders first round pick Gareon Conley has issued a statement on behalf of his client, further insisting his innocence.
Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Conley’s lawyer, Kevin Spellacy, sent the following text to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network:
“When I referenced a ‘consensual sexual event,’ I was NOT referring to intercourse. That did NOT happen.”
Previously, a statement from Spellacy had led some to believe that Conley and the accuser had consensual sex, which would have been a change from their original story. But the texts from the lawyer reiterate otherwise.
