The vibe coming into the 2018 NFL season was that second-year cornerback Gareon Conley was ready to become a shutdown corner in the league. Finally healthy from a shin injury that robbed him of nearly all of his rookie season, Conley impressed during OTAs and minicamp, but training camp has been a different story.
After practicing in the first practice on Friday, Conley was a no-show on Saturday, and then that bled into Sunday. On Sunday, the team announced that he was dealing with a hip strain, and that he would not be out long.
On Monday, that tune changed, as Ian Rapoport from the NFL Network tweeted this out.
