Oakland Raiders guard Gabe Jackson was already considered one of the best young guards in the NFL prior to 2016, but with another strong campaign, he established himself as one the best guards in the NFL, period. And he was incentivized like it.
The third-year guard received the NFL’s highest veteran performance-based bonus at $91,475, the NFL announced.
Per the Mercury News, the compensation formula is as follows:
“The bonus system using an index that takes the player’s numbers of snaps and divides it by their total compensation and compares that other players on their same team to compete for their portion of the bonus pool.
