Just over a year after pleading guilty to misdemeanor drug charges, former football star Todd Marinovich was taken into custody Friday for violating terms of his probation, according to court records.

Marinovich, who has been candid about his struggles with drug addiction, appeared in court Friday and was ordered to serve 90 days in jail for probation violation, court records show.

The type of the violation was unclear.

Marinovich, now 49, was sentenced to rehab and probation in March 2017 after police found him nude in a stranger’s backyard in Irvine, holding a brown bag with methamphetamine, syringes and his wallet.
