When former 49ers and Raiders tight end Ted Kwalick heard of the death of Ken Stabler, he immediately thought back to one of their last conversations.
“It’s really ironic. Three years ago, I was sitting in Oakland at an event with Kenny and his girlfriend, and we were talking about getting physicals and colonoscopies,” Kwalick told 49ers beat writer Cam Inman at the American Century Championship at Edgewood Tahoe South Tuesday. “I told him he needs to go, and his girlfriend said, ‘He doesn’t do that. He feels invincible.’ … He’s a good man and he’ll be missed.
