It’s been quite the fall from grace for former Alabama star running back Trent Richardson, whose final stop in the NFL was with the Oakland Raiders. As the third overall selection in the 2012 NFL Draft, expectations were high for Richardson.
He recorded 11 touchdowns in his rookie season, but most of those were gimme’s in short-yardage situations. In year two, Richardson was injured and only appeared in two games.
In year’s three and four, he didn’t average more than 3.3 yards per game and totaled only 6 touchdowns. Awful performances in consecutive seasons would spell the end of his NFL career.
