Former Raiders exec explains why Mark Davis wants to go to Vegas

The Raiders and owner Mark Davis have stayed for the most part out of relocation talk other than to affirm their desire to move to Las Vegas.

No use articulating any thoughts about how and why the Raiders are so much better off in Nevada, especially if there is a season or two worth of tickets to sell as a lame duck in Oakland.

The organizational silence is likely to continue, but a radio interview Friday with Washington president Bruce Allen gave a window into what Davis thinks and why he thinks it.

Allen, who worked for the Raiders as a senior executive under Al Davis from 1996 through 2003, remained friends with Mark Davis after his departure to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to join Jon Gruden and then through his next stop in the front office of Washington working for Dan Snyder.
