Former All-Pro defensive end Bubba Smith is the latest former NFL player to be diagnosed with CTE after his death, the Concussion Legacy Foundation web site reported Tuesday.
Smith died in 2011 at age 66. He played for the Baltimore Colts (1967-71), Oakland Raiders (1973-74) and finally the Houston Oilers (1975-76).The former All-America player from Michigan State later went on to an acting career, most notably in the ``Police Academy'' series as well as Miller Lite commercials.His condition was diagnosed by researchers from the VA-CU-CLF Brain Bank, a collaboration between the Department of Veteran Affairs, Boston University and the Concussion Legacy Foundation.
