After his first professional career came to a close, Nnamdi Asomugha got in front of a camera — but not the kind most former NFL veterans tend to choose.
Instead, the former Cal and Raiders cornerback went the Hollywood route.
Asomugha is costarring in “Crown Heights” — the winner of this year’s audience award at the Sundance Film Festival, which can be seen by Bay Area audiences at Berkeley’s Shattuck Cinemas. It’s far from a fluff piece.
“Crown Heights” is centered around the true story of Colin Warner (played by “Get Out” and “Atlanta” costar Lakeith Stanfield), a New Yorker wrongfully convicted of murder in 1980 and sentenced to at least 15 years in jail.
