ALAMEDA, Calif. -- Derek Carr went back to the future on Sunday, taking every snap of the Oakland Raiders' 38-24 victory over the Buffalo Bills out of the shotgun.
It was as if Carr was back in college, where he spent his final two seasons at Fresno State working almost exclusively out of the formation. And it may provide a glimpse into what the Raiders' third-year quarterback may have to do in the frigid cold of Kansas City come Thursday night to keep him from going under center and protecting his still-healing right pinkie, which was dislocated in two places last weekend.
