During the 2011 NFL season, the Oakland Raiders finished the year with an 8-8 record under head coach Hue Jackson. In fact, Jackson did a lot with the talent he had on that roster, but lost four of five games down the stretch, as the team looked to be headed towards the playoffs.
After the season, Reggie McKenzie took over as general manager, and had complete control of the direction of the team. Despite Jackson’s solid job in his only season as head coach, McKenzie decided to go another direction, hiring Dennis Allen, who previously worked as the Denver Broncos’ defensive coordinator.
