Decamerion Richardson might be ahead of schedule

When the Las Vegas Raiders spent a fourth-round pick in the NFL Draft on cornerback Decamrion Richardson, he was viewed as more of a project. The Mississippi State product who posted an 8.61 RAS out of 10 at the combine has plenty of tools and traits to be a successful pro but needs technical refinement.

However, based on the early reports from the Raiders’ training camp, it sounds like Richardson is ahead of schedule.

“Rookie cornerback Decamerion Richardson has been almost exclusively a backup at cornerback during training camp, but he has flashed when given an opportunity and has shown up in a big way on special teams,” The Athletic’s Tashan Reed wrote on August 5.
