A new bill introduced in the House this month might have direct ramifications for the proposed Raiders stadium in Las Vegas.
The bill, introduced by GOP Rep. Steve Russell of Oklahoma, would remove a tax exemption for stadium bonds — like the one approved by Nevada legislature in October.
The “No Tax Subsidies for Stadiums Act” is similar to a measure he introduced last year to restrict tax exemptions for stadium bonds. It would remove a tax exemption for bonds like Nevada’s, which aims to fund $750 million in bonds toward an NFL stadium with a hotel tax increase, that could reduce how much money such bonds raise.
