David Amerson watched as Green Bay receiver James Jones ran past him down the sideline, slowing down only to catch a 30-yard touchdown pass. The Raiders’ cornerback wanted to make clear it wasn’t a case of miscommunication, like the announcers like to say.
The safety didn’t think he was supposed to pick up Jones. The safety, TJ Carrie, didn’t know he was playing safety.
“It really wasn’t a miscommunication,” Amerson said. “It was about personnel. The guys got confused. We had guys moving from nickel to safety to corner and everything.
