Colts defensive end Trent Cole beat left tackle Donald Penn around the edge and lunged for Raiders quarterback Derek Carr Saturday in Oakland. His first attempt was unsuccessful. The second, however, hurt Carr and the Raiders in more ways than one.
After Carr stepped up in the pocket to avoid Cole's first attempt, Cole continue his pursuit and wrapped his arms around Carr, twisting him to the ground. The end result was a broken right fibula for Oakland's star quarterback.
Before the news broke, Cole wished nothing but the best for Carr.
“Things happen, and it sucks that it happened,” Cole told The Indianapolis Star on Carr having to exit Saturday's game early.
