When news broke that the Oakland Raiders had traded star defensive end Khalil Mack, it was pretty expected that Raider Nation would lose their mind. Trading Mack made absolutely no sense regardless of what they got back, as he was under contract for 2018, and could be given a franchise tag in 2019 and 2020.
That would have given the Raiders plenty of time to lock Mack up long-term, ensuring the future Hall of Famer would wear the Silver and Black for his entire NFL career. What happened on Saturday was not only a bad move by the organization, but a puzzling one at that, as the compensation they got back for him was a slap in the face for the franchise.
