Ryan Murphy, a safety on the Denver Broncos’ practice squad, was questioned and released by Bay Area sheriff's deputies during a prostitution sting Tuesday.
Authorities determined Murphy was not involved in illegal activity at the Motel 6 on 1st Street in San Jose and he was released, according to the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Department.
The Santa Clara County Human Trafficking Task Force was conducting the sting, authorities said. Sheriff’s spokesperson Sgt. James Jensen said there have been several stings conducted over the last few days in which 10 men were cited and released, and 20 women acting as prostitutes were offered help.
