Breaking: Raiders sign veteran starting right tackle Breno Giacomini

It looks like the Raiders may have found the potential replacement for Marshall Newhouse. Thursday the team signed veteran free agent offensive tackle Breno Giacomini.

The 11-year NFL veteran was originally a 5th round pick by the Packers while Reggie McKenzie was in the team’s front office. Giacomini would spend just one season in Green Bay, appearing in one game before being released and spending a couple seasons on the team’s practice squad.

In 2010, the Seahawks signed the 6-7, 320-pounder off the Packers’ practice squad, cut him, and later resigned him.
