The Las Vegas Raiders have a new starting quarterback.
Head coach Antonio Pierce announced Sunday that free-agent addition Gardner Minshew will be the team’s starting quarterback for the 2024 regular-season.
Minshew beat incumbent Aidan O’Connell to earn the job. Thus, it will be Minshew who leads the Silver and Black into SoFi Stadium to face the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 1 on September 8.
The Raiders decided on making Minshew the starter after their second preseason game, against the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday night. Minshew started the game and O’Connell started the preseason opener at Minnesota on August 10.
