Back on offense, Raiders’ Taiwan Jones says he’s in flow

Taiwan Jones, the running back turned cornerback turned running back again, needed only five preseason carries to win the Raiders’ backup running back job. He gained 27 yards on those plays, and that team-best 5.4 average was good enough to temporarily hold off Roy Helu Jr., according to the team depth chart that was released Tuesday.

Helu, signed as a free agent from Washington, missed the first two preseason games with a hamstring injury and then ran 11 times for 8 yards.

Jones, in his fifth year with the team, was moved back to running back this offseason.
