When Mark Davis removed the interim tag and named Antonio Pierce as the Las Vegas Raiders head coach, Davis compared Pierce’s position to a CEO’s.
“Both the coach and GM are like the CEOs now,” the owner said via The Athletic’s Vic Tafur. “They have to have a lot of abilities, and the coach has to have the ability to learn them, and Antonio is willing to listen to people who have done it before.”
Since then, Pierce has seemingly taken those words to heart as he hired a staff with several former head coaches and coaches who have significantly more NFL experience than he does.
