Dick Fosbury invented the backward, no-look leap of faith, and used it to win the high jump at the 1968 Olympics. On Sunday, Khalil Mack put a new twist on that maneuver.
Just before halftime, the Raiders’ defensive end picked off a Cam Newton pass at the Carolina 6-yard-line, ran it into the end zone, then launched himself backward into the Black Hole, sticking his landing.
“Yeah, I’ve been waiting to do that for three years,” Mack said.
For the first half of the season, people were laughing at the Raiders’ defense.
