ALAMEDA — The Raiders are in the market for another placekicker Monday after Mike Nugent injured a hip during a 28-20 road loss to the Miami Dolphins.
Nugent successfully converted field goal attempts of 25 and 52 yards — the last one with 1:40 to play.
“Although he kicked field goals very well, we’re concerned about his status for this week,” coach Jon Gruden said at his weekly press conference.
Nugent was originally brought in during training camp to join Eddy Pineiro, an undrafted rookie from Florida. The Raiders decided to go with Pineiro over incumbent Giorgio Tavecchio, but Pineiro sustained a groin injury, was placed on injured reserve and is not eligible to play this season.
