ALAMEDA — The Raiders have the floor.
With the Los Angeles Rams having reached a contract reportedly worth a maximum of $135 million over six years, attention focuses on the Raiders and holdout defensive end Khalil Mack.
Donald’s deal resets the market for defensive players, as Donald’s average of $22.5 million per season surpasses the two-year-old contract signed by Denver outside linebacker Von Miller. Donald is expected to play when the Rams visit the Raiders at the Coliseum on Monday night, Sept. 10 in the regular-season opener.
For Mack’s purposes, the key number is the reported $87 million in guarantees.
