In the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders addressed three needs at EDGE, running back and safety by selecting Clelin Ferrell, Josh Jacobs and Johnathan Abram. Many observers felt as though these picks may have been reaches, but they are all talented players, and all represent upgrades at positions of need.
As the team enters Day 2 holding just one pick, pick 35 in the second round, it could be a quiet evening for the Raiders. However, as unpredictable as Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock have been in their short time together, they could certainly make some noise and move back into the latter portions of the second or third rounds.
