Amerson missed time this past season with a few different injuries and couldn't perform to the level of expectations. Cutting him leaves Oakland with no dead cap space and saves them $6 million. Despite Amerson showing signs of ability, the injury risk plus the inconsistent play made him an easy cut this offseason.
The 26-year-old recorded only 18 tackles and four passes defensed in six games in 2017.
Amerson was featured in our "4 Players The Oakland Raiders Could Cut This Offseason" article, so don't be surprised if they cut the other three players soon.
