The Oakland Raiders had the biggest moment of their 2014 season ripped away from them on Sunday, as a late 6-yard Darren McFadden touchdown run against the New England Patriots was nullified by a holding penalty, keeping the Raiders from potentially tying the game with seconds left.
However, the question still remains. Would head coach Dennis Allen have called for a two-point conversion attempt?
“Yeah, that thought went through my head,” Allen said, via Bill Williamson of ESPN.com.
Well...would he have done it or not?
“It is kind of a moot point now,” Allen stated flatly. “You know what I mean? So, we would have done what we felt like we had to do to win.”
If Allen had called his number, QB Derek Carr would have jumped on the opportunity to seize the lead in a heartbeat.
“That’s coach Allen’s decision, but I was ready to go,” Carr said, showing the fearlessness that has him positioned to be the Raiders' signal caller of the future.
